Berlin Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2019: Austrian label Lena Hoschek presented colorful, joy of life spreading collection under the name 'Tutti Frutti'

Yesterday on the opening day of Berlin Fashion Week, Austrian label Lena Hoschek - known for new interpretations of country-specific clothing traditions, presented the new Spring/Summer 2019 'Tutti Frutti' inspired by Portuguese culture and with Carmen Miranda singing 'Tutti-Frutti Hat' in mind. After collections derived from regional clothing of the French Provence (SS16), inspired by Germany's Rügen at the Baltic Sea (SS17), or Hungary SS18, Lena Hoschek adds a further point onto her fashion map and fuses once again elements from historical costumes with modern looks motivated by the designer's sense for the exploration of the joys of life and the visualization of her findings in fashion.

"Fruit markets are a magical place to me. The scents, the colours, the whole flair – it is more than just a culinary experience to me, it is total eye candy and an inspiration for all my senses." says Lena Hoschek.

The latest collection 'Tutti Frutti' with prints of tropical fruits and exotic birds brings sun and the ocean into mind as well as Portugal's history of being once in the 15th and 16th century a maritime empire (the name Portugal is derived from the Latin word 'portus') and the country's discoveries of the globe such as the sea route to India or the European discovery of Brazil in 1500.
