Streetwear with couture elements
...seen at the new Spring/Summer 2015 collection by Japanese label Facetasm by designer Hiromichi Ochiai during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo. Hiromichi Ochiai (educated at Bunka Fashion College, founded Facetasm in 2007) plays with layers of various qualities of textiles, materials like feathers and experimental cuts such as the skirt-shorts on view on this page. Facetasm belongs to the designers which represent typical Tokyo street style (Japanese Broadcaster NHK reported that he created "a buzz as a designer with 'the most distinctively Tokyo style'".) The Facetasm collection SS15 appears in parts like a mix of sports-streetwear with elements known from couture such as the green bomber jacket that is made from very light layers of silky fabrics over a semi-transparent nylon-shimmering gauze; the butterfly wing layers play with the wind like the feathers suggest - best on view at the runway video on tokyofashionfilm.com. Some of the collection items (jeans for example) show knots; the knots appear also at the recently launched collaborative Facetasm x Converse All Star sneakers.
