1990s grunge music inspired Sopopular's designer Daniel Blechman for menswear 2014
Berlin-based label Sopopular by designer Daniel Blechman presented the new Spring/Summer collection on 2 July 2013 at Berlin Fashion Week. Soon after, the label published the collection teaser video which introduces with model Bastian Thiery and a dubstep remix of the 1994s grunge song 'Black Hole Sun' into the Sopopular style for next summer's menswear. The cut of the pieces reminds modern sportswear, remixed with 50ies motorcycle rebel touch, the colors are non-colors from black over grey to white. The eye-catching graphical black/white 3D-cube print is created by the designer Daniel Blechman himself and can be found on shorts, skirt and bomber jacket. For Sopopular SS2014, Daniel Blechman was inspired by Japanese architect Tadao Andō and music by US grunge/alternative rock band Soundgarden; the collection's title 'Black Hole Sun' is a tribute to the song from 1994.
