Since 1968, Wolfgang Joop (born on 18 November 1944) receives prizes for design; in the beginning in collaboration with his former wife. The studied economist is designer, illustrator, journalist, book author (for example the cookbook 'Hectic Cuisine', 2002), honorary professor for fashion design at the University of Arts in Berlin and art collector of paintings and furniture from the 17th century to nowadays.
In the late 70ies, fashion under the name 'Wolfgang Joop' became internationally known. In 1981, Wolfgang Joop created the fashion and (award-winning) fragrance label JOOP!. In 2001, he sold the brand JOOP! and started two years later in 2003 together with Edwin Lemberg the label 'Wunderkind' in
Potsdam; in the following year, Wunderkind went public. In March 2004, the fashion collection of the new label was launched in front of selected buyers and press in Berlin and some months later in September, Wunderkind appeared for the first time at a fashion week (New York) in front of a wider public. Since 2006, Wunderkind presents the new collections in Paris.
