Designers and media get-together in Vienna
Some days before the MQ Vienna Fashion Week opening on 8 September, designers and media met at the 'Preview Cocktail' at the 1873 Hallen Salon of Hotel Imperial. The event started officially at 17:00 - and it took time until the show began. Enough time to speak with some of the designers and for taking photos - such as on view at the bottom of this page. The catwalk ran through the glamorously gold and crystal sparkling hall of the salon. Each design label presented one signature piece from the collection which will be on view between 8 and 14 September in a tent in front of the MuseumsQuartier (the MQ is a 10 minutes walk away from the preview location at the hotel). The first outfit on the salon runway was a white dress combined with embroidered leather-like legging-boots by the Austrian designer Susanne Bisovsky (her show is scheduled on 10 September at 20:00). At the end of the get-together, media partners received a bag with MQ Vienna Fashion Week guide, folder with the dates of the shows, hair spray, one-person-cake by Hotel Imperial with 'Imperial Torte'-folder of the house's various cakes, and last year's 'Fashion Week Show and Club Tracks'-bundle which contains two CDs (tracklist on iTunes).

From left: Marcos Valenzuela and Karl Ammerer from Tiberius (show on 10 Sept, 20:00), Bipone Couture duo Bilyana and Petar Pelov with their baby (show on 14 Sept, 19:00), Monika Draskovits (presentation of knitwear by her label Draskovits on 12 Sept, 20:00) and Martin Wagner who represented the design labels Jchoerl and Paptiste (both will show together with Draskovits on 12 Sept at 20:00).
