Street as the 'red carpet'

Fashionoffice was inspired by the idea 'Metropolitan Explorer', seen at the new fall/winter 2011/12 collection by G-Star and collected some pieces like an electric metro bike, sportive sunglasses,... for the daily 'red carpet' which is rolled out for city explorers everywhere, anytime.

Video: Impressions from the 'G-Star Raw FW2011/12' catwalk during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week on 12 February 2011 at the Lincoln Center in New York accompanied by interviews with actors and personalities from film and TV like Gemma Arterton (the new face of G-Star), Alan Cumming, Ruby Rose... on the red carpet and statements by the designers of the G-Star FW2011/12 collection.

Denim jeans and gilet over waxed dark blue jacket with 3D-elements from the 'Metropolitan Explorer'-collection by G-Star, FW2011/12. The collection is inspired by 1920's tailoring of city outfits and made of outdoor fabrics known from workwear. The combination elegant tailoring and outdoor utility fabrics is following G-Star's 'unexpected combinations' philosophy. The 3D elements on the jacket are another signature design of G-Star. The label took the inspiration already from the beginning on in 1996 from knee inserts on motorcyclist’s leather trousers.

Sportive sunglasses 'SPS 04M' by Prada, SS2011. The double bridge is a trompe l'oeil effect; suggested by the metal detail in the middle.

Sportive-classical watch 'DS Podium GMT' with second time-zone by Certina, seen in April 2011 (premiered in late 2010). Certina (since 1888) has a strong commitment to sport, especially motor-racing. Certina is mentioned together with sport stars such as Thomas Lüthi, Timo Glock, Robert Kubica or boxing legend Muhammad Ali. Since 2005, Certina has been a partner of the BMW Sauber F1 Team.

Electric bike 'A2B Metro' is a hybrid vehicle (motor + muscle) for inner city trips by Ultra Motor (founded 2003); available since July 2010.
