On 4th March 2011, the French couture house Maison Martin Margiela presented the new women's FW2011/12 collection developed from the 'study of a dress' at the Palais de Tokyo during Paris Fashion Week.
The products of Martin Margiela's study of a dress have the sexy appeal of undressing a woman. The fashion house has taken 'the dress', splitted it and un-dressed it as for example jacket and overskirt. The dramaturgy of the scenery of 'undressing' is enhanced by the designers as they have turned underwear into outerwear by using materials like leather for stockings.
Nudity is a great theme in this collection inspired by the colors of female underwear like pastel green, pink or nude mixed with purple, bottle green, bordeaux and black.
